First published in 1785, Boswell’s Journal of a Tour to the Hebrides (1773) documents his travels through the highlands and western islands of Scotland, in the company of Samuel Johnson. Boswell’s tour began on 14 August and ended on 11 November. He made an entry in his Journal every day.
